! UPDATE ! 21.08.2020
As much as it saddens us to say, with Auckland currently being at COVID-19 level 3, we inevitably had to cancel our August concert. We were so close to being performance ready and needless to say we were all looking forward to singing again in front of an audience for the first time this year.
However we do not stand entirely defeated, and we are still hoping to be able to perform this programme for a small audience in September and record it to share with other loved ones.
We’re delighted to be able to announce our coming concert:
Harbour Voices UnCov’d – Celebrating Togetherness With Great Choral Favourites
which will take place on Sunday afternoon 23rd August at 3.00 pm
in St Georges Presbyterian Church in Takapuna.
The earlier than expected relaxation of Covid19 restrictions enabled us to return to regular rehearsals in June, and we are delighted to be able to celebrate the occasion with a presentation of well known items – a mixture of classic favourites including pieces from Mendelssohn, Brahms or Handel, and of more contemporary pieces like the Lord of the Ring’s “Into the West” or Ben E. King’s “Stand by Me”.
The concert will be conducted by Nicholas Forbes and we will be accompanied by Michael Bell on the organ and Benjamin Kubiak on the piano. We will also be joined by some young promising soloists.
Tickets are on sale now!
Children under 12 attend free
The tickets are available through any choir member or you can write an e-mail at
harbour email@example.com or you can call Rowena on 021-759-765.
Tickets will also be on sale at the door, but these will be limited so don’t miss out – book ahead!
The concert will be a bit shorter than usual, it will last approximately 75mn with an interval.
As always, there will be a raffle during the interval with hampers full of goodies to be won. So please bring some cash along. Raffle tickets are $2 each (3 for $5).
And of course we hope you’ll stay with us for tea and nibbles in the church hall after the concert!
A Facebook event has also been created, so you can spread the joy with your friends!
We look forward to welcoming you to this afternoon of great music where we will share with you our Joy of singing together again!
