in St George’s Presbyterian Church in Takapuna

Fear not! The evening of this Friday the 13th promises to be magical!
Come and join us in Takapuna to celebrate Christmas growing near

Our program will feature many of your festive favourites and more.
From mystical renaissance carols and ancient latin advent hymns to Nutcracker’s crackers,
and showcasing the whimsical musical setting of Clement C. Moore’s beloved Christmas poem ‘Twas the Night before Christmas’

It’s Love, actually

It will be taking place on Sunday 11 August 2019 at 2:30pm

If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaky feeling you’ll find that love actually is all around.
Love! Surely the most beautiful feeling of all!
It inspires so many different emotions: happiness, pain, passion, torment…
Our mid-winter concert will explore how the highs and lows of love weave their way through the fabric of our lives.
We’ll sing John Rutter’s Sprig of Thyme, a collection of old English folk songs,
and Five Hebrew Love Songs, a set of modern Hebrew love poems composed by Eric Whitacre.
We’ll also be joined by some talented artists who will be performing some beloved classics from the Opera and from Musicals:

Chris McRae – Tenor
Esther Oh – Violin
Benjamin Kubiak – Piano

Do come and join us as we unite our voices to celebrate Love… You might actually feel smitten all over again!

The Best of British Baroque

We are glad to announce our next concert: The Best of British Baroque
It will be taking place on Saturday 11 May 2019 at 7:30pm
in St Peter’s Anglican Church, 11 Killarney Street, in Takapuna

Come and enjoy the flamboyant works of two Kings of Baroque from the 17th and 18th century: George Frideric Handel & Henry Purcell.
Our repertoire will include the Te Deum Laudamus from Purcell (composed in 1694 for St Cecilia’s day), and the well-loved Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah (composed in 1741).
Other works will include:
Remember not, Lord, our offences – Purcell
Rejoice in the Lord Alway – Purcell
O Praise the Lord with One consent (Ninth Chandos Anthem) – Handel

This concert promises to be a real delight, with exceptional soloists and instrumentalists joining us to bring you the Best Baroque experience.

Take notice that the Annual General Meeting of the members of the North Shore Chorale Inc is to be held on Wednesday, 21st March 2018 at St George’s Presbyterian Church, Takapuna, commencing at 8.45pm.

Nominations for any and all of the above positions shall be in writing in the form prescribed by the Management Committee, signed by the nominee, the proposer and seconder, and delivered into the possession of the Secretary no less than two clear days prior to the meeting. A copy of the nomination form is attached.
